About the Plant
Paeonia 'Do Tell' is one of the world's most famous Japanese-type peonies — a variety that captivates at first glance. No two blooms on the same plant are ever quite identical: flowers open with subtly different forms and colour tones ranging from pink and pearl-white to plum and lilac. This natural variability is precisely what gives 'Do Tell' its unique and irresistible charm.
Flowers
- Japanese anemone-type blooms
- Colour range: pink, pearl-white, plum, and lilac tones — varying naturally on the same plant
- Delicate, fresh fragrance with a light citrus note
- Blooms June–July
Growth Habit
- Elegant, strong clump
- Height: 70–90 cm
- Strong stems — generally no staking required
Care Instructions
- Light: Full sun preferred; dappled shade extends blooming and prevents petal bleaching
- Planting: Plant bare-root in autumn. Buds (eyes) must be exactly 3–5 cm below the soil surface — planting too deep will prevent flowering.
- Frost hardy
