About the Plant
Paeonia 'Dinner Plate' is a spectacular late-season double peony, renowned for its enormous blooms — widely considered the largest pink herbaceous peony ever bred. Its massive 17 cm flowers are borne on strong, thick stems and make an outstanding cut flower with an exceptionally long vase life.
Flowers
- Fully double blooms up to 17 cm in diameter
- Soft pink tones
- Excellent cut flower — long vase life, especially when cut in bud
- Late season: blooms after most other peonies, extending the garden display
- Staking recommended due to the exceptional size and weight of the blooms
Growth Habit
- Strong, upright, lush clump
- Height: 90–110 cm
- Spread: 60–75 cm
- Deep green foliage, decorative throughout summer, often colours in autumn
Care Instructions
- Light: Full sun to light partial shade
- Planting: Plant bare-root in autumn. Buds (eyes) must be exactly 3–5 cm below the soil surface — planting too deep will prevent flowering.
- Frost hardy
